Abstract

Today in beginning of the 21st century, women are facing numerous constraints in achieving the economic empowerment which is essential for their upgradation. In our society women are considered equal to men in every sphere. But in reality, the situation is totally different. There are many constraints which come in the way of achieving economic empowerment of women e.g. poor approach of parents, family members and society towards women’s economic empowerment, poor approach of labor market towards females compared to males, strong male dominating structure, lack of education, overburden of household work, problem of finance, lack of control over money, strong family ties, poor business connection, traditional family and social structure and lack of supportive attitude of new male generation towards women economic empowerment. These constraints have to be removed if we want that women should achieve the economic empowerment.
