Chief & Deputy Chief Editor’s Note

We are delighted to introduce sixth edition of the alleviation: an international journal of nutrition, gender & social development. It is a peer-reviewed journal with international editorial board established in 2014 by Arya PG College (College with Potential for Excellence Status by UGC), Panipat , Haryana, India. The main purpose of the alleviation is to publish original research papers.
The current issue of the journal contains papers related to Nutrition [Women empowerment: A key to eradicate undernutrition and anaemia], Gender [Economic role of women in garment industry; status and socio economic profile of women workers especially in unorganized sectors of India; female workers and their socio-economic profile: a study of unorganized sector in India; from rags to riches: rural women empowerment through block printing], Social Development [Paradigm shift in lifestyle and coping strategies to manage stress in working women; role of local, national and international organizations working for the promotion of safety, health and welfare of women engaged in unorganized sector; designing of kurtis by using traditional Indian motifs; role of MNREGA in providing employment to women: a case study of Fatehabad district in Haryana state and role of values in higher education: challenges and solutions].
